HELP THE VICTIMS OF
THE FLOOD IN PAKISTAN

Pakistan is going through one of the worst crisis in her history. According to Maurizio Giuliano

"This disaster is worse than the Southeast Asia tsunami, the 2005 Pakistan earthquake and the Haiti earthquake".

Maurizio Giuliano, a spokesman for the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs has said "Up to 3.5 million children are at high risk of deadly waterborne diseases, such as watery diarrhoea and dysentery. Water during the flood has been contaminated badly. There is a shortage of clean water."

According to the Guardian "Hundreds of villages across Pakistan in an area roughly the size of Italy have been marooned, roads have been cut in half and thousands of homeless people have been forced to set up tarpaulin tents along the side of roads."

According to New York Times "Providing clean water for millions and avoiding the spread of diseases like cholera are the first priorities. But there are also looming food shortages and price spikes, even in cities. There is also the danger that farmers will miss the fall planting season, raising the prospect of a new cycle of shortfalls next year."

Thousands have already lost their lives directly due to the flood. In the absence of relief their will be more casualties because of starvation, disease, and fatigue.
